1. Bilingualism is the ability of an individual or the members of a community to use two languages effectively. While code mixing is when someone uses one word or phrase from one language to another language. And code switching is when the language is arranged structurally and grammatically in other language.
2. As you can see that international students or national plus student speak 2 languages. At school, lots of their friend are non-Indonesian so English is the most used language. When they are at home they use Indonesian as their maid/parents might not understand. So implicitly, they forced to speak 2 languages in order to blend in with different societies.
the example of code-switching these days is most teenagers usually using 'sa ae' as a slang refers to 'bisa aja'. These words taken from Javanese language. Eventhough, it is from Java, people in Jakarta also use that words especially teenagers.
And code-mixing in this illustration i would take an example of mixing indonesian and english language. For instance, the word 'chatting' are use more than the word in Indonesian 'mengobrol'. 'chatting' might refer to talk in a text/call or/and talking face to face
